The relief only lives in these zones, in percent of the height (0 = bottom). Elsewhere the wall stays smooth.

The fade erases the ribs at both ends of every zone: the first layer stays a clean circle, which sticks properly to the plate.

Pattern

Openings through the wall: the light comes through them, in crisp spots on the walls. No vase mode with openings, and the top of each one prints as a bridge. With Voronoi, a wide shade gets more cells than asked, so every opening stays printable.

Usual hole for an E27 ring (measure yours: 38 to 42 mm). LED bulbs only: PLA softens around 55 to 60 °C.

Part

A lamp base or a wall mount to print along with the shade, around a hollow M10 threaded tube (the standard part of light fittings). The 3D view then shows the lamp put together: standing on its base, or hanging on the wall.

On the plate

Upside down, the flat top becomes the first layer: it sticks to the plate, the socket sits on solid material and vase mode works. The Printability button shows the part lying the way it will print.

Printing

The file is solid, like lampshades made for vase mode: the slicer fills the first layers (the flat top, with the socket hole), then climbs as a single spiral line. Set 5 to 15 bottom layers.

The preview is lightened to stay smooth; the exported file draws every rib with 24 facets.

The format recent slicers open natively (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer), lighter than an STL.

The OpenSCAD file carries the same settings, for anyone who would rather tinker with the model at the source.

How it works

Three minutes, no 3D software, no account. You pull a few points, the lamp takes shape, you leave with the file.

  1. 1. You draw

    One curve, a handful of points to pull. The shape updates while you move the mouse, in 3D, straight away.

  2. 2. You adjust

    Height, diameter, relief, thickness, socket size. The measurements show at the bottom, and we tell you whether it fits your printer.

  3. 3. You print

    An STL file already laid the right way up, flat top on the plate. The studio hands you the slicer settings: vase mode, no supports, LED bulb.

Would rather tinker?

The same lampshade exists as an OpenSCAD file, with exactly the same settings. The Copy button hands you the block to paste into it.
